Former All Star defender Paddy Christie says Tyrone present the biggest threat to Dublin's chances of retaining Sam Maguire this year.

Speaking on the Jones' Road Podcast on Monday, the three-time Leinster SFC winner felt that Mickey Harte's side were not at their best in Sunday's Ulster SFC final victory over Donegal in Clones and reckons that the Red Hands' 'A Game' could upset the Leinster champions.

"I thought they would be a little bit better yesterday," Christie stated. "I thought they were All-Ireland material and I still think they are but maybe yesterday's game was a hard one to judge in light of everything, but they can build on it.

"They are serious contenders to the Dublins and the Kerrys of this world without doubt. On a given day in Croke Park I can see them beating Dublin and I'd be very worried about them."

Ex-Armagh star Finnian Moriarty, who retired from inter-county football last year, concurred with the current Dublin minor manager, saying: "At the minute, the way the football championship is panned out, the only two teams that I think are challenging at the minute would be Dublin or Tyrone.

He added: "I expected Tyrone to be better yesterday as well. They did what they had to to win but if you look at some of the players they were bringing off the bench and the dynamics that they can bring to their team. They've a serious squad."
