The GAA have confirmed that the Leinster SFC and SHC quarter-final double-header scheduled for May 29 has been brought forward by eight days.

The news comes after it was confirmed that Bruce Springsteen will play at Croke Park on the originally scheduled weekend, with the association stating that the three counties involved, Dublin, Kildare and Wexford, were "happy to accommodate the switch to a new date".

Springsteen and the E Street Band will play at Croke Park on Friday 27 May, with potentially two more dates on the Saturday and Sunday should the concert sell out.

It means that Wexford and Kildare will now face off in the quarter-finals of senior football championship on May 21, with Wexford hurlers pencilled in against Dublin as a double-header for the Slayneysiders.

The GAA statement said: "The GAA can confirm that a decision has been taken to schedule a concert by Bruce Springsteen for Croke Park on 27 May of this year.

"Sunday 29 May was due to feature a Leinster senior championship double header between Wexford and Dublin in hurling and Wexford and Kildare in football.

"These games will now take place as a double header at Croke Park on Saturday, May 21.

"The Leinster Council and all three counties involved in the 29 May fixtures were aware in advance of the concert and are happy to accommodate the switch to a new date."
