Mayo and Dublin fans attending next Saturday night's Allianz League game at Elvery's MacHale Park have been advised that no parking will be allowed on the N5.

Garda Superintendent Joe McKenna told the Western People that parking will not be permitted on the main Castlebar-Dublin Road after some motorists had parked irresponsibility on the busy stretch when the teams clashed at the same venue last year.

He said: "It is not a safe place to park. There will be no parking on the N5."

New parking arrangements are in place which will see up to 2,000 extra spaces being made available in the vicinity of MacHale Park.
