'Kevin Heffernan: Wrapped Up in Blue,' a documentary created by renowned filmmaker Brian O'Flaherty and supported by the famous St. Vincent's GAA club, is the perfect stocking filler for GAA and particularly Dublin GAA fans this Christmas.

The documentary tells the story of one of the greatest sporting icons of the 20th century, Dublin's Kevin Heffernan, or 'Heffo,' as he is affectionately known.

Featuring family, friends and colleagues the documentary not only celebrates Heffo's impressive sporting career as a player and manager but also his professional career. It offers a deeper and new insight into his childhood growing up on the northside of Dublin and how he, with the help of his colleagues, developed GAA in Dublin. It highlights his desire to beat Kerry and why he felt beating Kerry was like winning two All Irelands

Commenting on the release of the documentary, producer Brian O'Flaherty said, "Kevin Heffernan was really one of a kind, so making a documentary about him seemed only right.

"The documentary is a celebration of his success as a player, when he captained Dublin to All Ireland glory in 1958, as a manager, when he drove Dublin to All Ireland triumph in 1973, 1976 and 1983, and Ireland in the International Rules against Australia and when he helped cement the development of GAA in Dublin since the 70's.

"I'm very proud to say I was involved in the production of this documentary and I hope Dublin and all GAA fans will consider it as a gift for their loved ones this Christmas."

He was a true gent who did so much for the GAA in Dublin and for Vincent's. He made Gaelic games fashionable in the city and gave us a real identity and pride in our city.
