Players involved in the melee which broke out during last Sunday's Fenway Hurling Classic in Boston could yet face disciplinary charges.

The Irish Independent reports that the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) are set to review the report of referee Alan Kelly of the incident which broke out between Dublin and Galway's hurlers at Fenway Park.

Kelly sin-binned Galway duo Iarla Tannian and Andy Smith, along with Dublin goalkeeper Conor Dooley, after reverting to the television match official for a review of the incident. Under 'Super 11' rules, yellow-carded players spend two minutes 'in the bin.'

All three players cannot face further punishment as their contribution to the melee has been dealt with but others involved could potentially face a one-match ban if they are cited.

Both teams played down the incident after, with Dublin's Gary Maguire describing it as "handbags".

The inaugural match saw a crowd of 30,000 turn out at the home of the famous Boston Red Sox franchise.
