No bad blood between Irish team-mates

Lee Keegan insists there is no bad blood between him and Diarmuid Connolly.

The two will line out together for Ireland against Australia in Saturday week's International Rules Test, just a couple of months after they clashed in the closing stages of the drawn All-Ireland SFC semi-final between Mayo and Dublin. Connolly was sent off by referee Joe McQuillan, but was controversially cleared to play in the replay following a successful appeal to DRA.

Speaking at yesterday's announcement of the Ireland squad, vice-captain Keegan said the incident is all water under the bridge.

"No, there are no problem there. We're representing our country," he explained.

"What we do with our county colours is totally separate to what we do we do in Ireland. That's my main thing. I'm not apprehensive at all. We're both adults at this stage. We both know how to deal with it. I was happy enough with the way the whole thing was dealt with.

"There is always a bit of awkwardness between players, not even from a Mayo/Dublin point of view, but just that you can be quite nervous coming into an environment you're not used to.

"Playing for your county is quite easy because you're close together. You're playing with the best players in the country so you have to enjoy that as well."
