One year has made a world of difference for Dublin's Jonny Cooper.

Last Sunday saw the Na Fianna defender parading the Sam Maguire Cup around Croke Park with his Dublin team mates, exactly 12 months to the day that he had been stabbed whilst walking home from a night out.

He required 10 stitches to his head and neck after the attack but was back on club duty again within a month.

"What a difference - 12 months and four hours later," Cooper said on Today FM.

"I have some vague memories of someone standing over me and doing what he was doing. Thank God I got all the support I needed because it was a tough time.

"It was good to get out the other side and I was back for the club championship three or four weeks later."
