Dublin booked their All-Ireland senior camogie championship quarter-final place following a narrow victory over Clare in today's playoff at Semple Stadium.

The playoff was only confirmed by the Camogie Association on Wednesday after both teams had refused to agree to a controversial coin toss to determine who would progress after they had finished level on points and also on head-to-head.

As in their earlier group encounter that finished 1-8 apiece, this was another close affair which saw the teams deadlocked seven times before Dublin edged clear in injury-time.

A Louise O'Hara goal cancelled out three early Clare points from Chloe Morey (two) and Eimear Kelly. Sarah O'Donovan and Aine Fanning gave the Dubs the lead for the first time, but the Banner battled back to level at the break, 0-8 to 1-5.

It continued to be tit-for-tat for much of the second half before substitute Aisling Maher's late point sealed Dublin's spot in the All-Ireland quarter-final against Wexford in just 48 hours' time.
