Ger Cunningham believes the four-week break Dublin had following their crushing Leinster SHC semi-final replay defeat by Galway helped to refocus minds.
The Dubs got back to winning ways against Laois on Saturday and will now face Limerick for a place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
"We didn't show up against Galway, but that wasn't a true reflection of where we're at. But now we're back in the ball game. We're one game away from an All-Ireland quarter-final," the Dublin manager told the Irish Daily Star.
"Four weeks has been a long waiting to prove the last day wasn't a true reflection of where we're at.
"What it did was give us a good chance to reflect and to look at the video of what went wrong. We were very disappointing against Galway."
