Rory O'Carroll would consider ending his Gaelic football career if he suffers another concussion.

The Dublin full back, who was concussed during the 2013 All-Ireland final win over Mayo and has no recollections of the closing stages of the game, is an ambassador for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Ireland.

Speaking at the launch of the AIG/JF Dunne Insurance Pupil Protection Plan yesterday, O'Carroll said: "If I was to receive another serious concussion, I would very seriously consider continuing playing.

"On average, a playing career of 10 years is a good one. Out of your life, that could be an eighth. I would rather consider my future life to be honest."

O'Carroll also revealed that he is a doubt for Dublin's Leinster SFC quarter-final on May 31 against the winners of tomorrow's first round clash between Offaly and Longford after picking up a hamstring injury in the recent Allianz League final.

"I tore my hamstring against Cork. Been out for two weeks so another week or so to go," he explained.

"Long-term I want to get my hamstrings right rather than rushing back. It's a bit frustrating as I injured my left one against Monaghan and my right one against Cork."
