Bernard Brogan racked up 2-7 (2-6 from play) as St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh opened their Dublin SFC campaign with an emphatic 5-15 to 0-9 win over St. Peregrine's at Russell Park last night.

The former Footballer of the Year had the ball in the net after just 15 seconds and proceeded to torment the Peregine's defence for the remainder of the game. His brother Paul also raised a green flag in the first half to help the Navan Road outfit to a 2-11 to 0-4 interval lead.

County U21 Niall Walsh added two more goals after the restart before Bernard Brogan rounded off the goal-scoring.

There was another one-sided contest in Bohernabreena where St. Jude's routed St. Mary's, Saggart on a 3-20 to 0-8 scoreline. Declan Donnelly, Tom Larkin and Diarmuid McLoughlin were the Tymon North side's goal-scorers.

In last night's other SFC tie at Balgriffin, a whirlwind start laid the foundations for Skerries Harps' 1-15 to 1-9 win over O'Toole's. Mark Boylan's goal enabled the Harps to open up an early 1-6 to 0-1 lead, but Ciaran Kimmage's major brought O'Toole's back into it before half-time, and the winners needed second half points from former Dublin captain Bryan Cullen, his brother Graham and Barry Davey to make sure of the win.
