Joey Boland can't hide his excitement when it comes to discussing the potential that exits within the Dublin senior hurling ranks.

With newcomers such as Conor Murphy, Eoghan O'Donnell, John Hetherton and Cian Boland set to make the step up to senior level under new manager Ger Cunningham, 27-year-old Boland says these are exciting times for the small ball code in the capital.

"The new brand of hurler coming through in Dublin is outrageous," he revealed to The Irish Daily Mirror.

"They're so well conditioned, so well skilled from the work they're doing in development panels.

"And they're pushing all the lads that have been there for seven or eight years. Couple that youth and experience with the freshness around the camp and I'm expecting a huge year for Dublin.

"I'm really excited to be part of it."
