GAA armchair fans are in for an unexpected treat this weekend after it was confirmed that both the McKenna Cup and O'Byrne Cup finals will be televised live.

The McKenna Cup final between Tyrone and Cavan at the Athletic Grounds on Saturday night (throw-in 7.30pm) is being shown by BBC Northern Ireland. However, viewers will need to press the red button on the remote control to access the coverage.

On Sunday, TG4 will screen the O'Byrne Cup final between Kildare and Dublin, which is expected to draw a capacity crowd to Newbridge. The game gets underway at 2pm. The Irish language station also showed last year's final between Kildare and Meath, which was played at the same venue.
