Wexford followed up yesterday's challenge match win over Clare with another victory over UCD in Gorey.

Liam Dunne's men will travel to Abbeyleix next Sunday to face Laois in the group decider after putting the game beyond the students in the first half. With Podge Doran, Joe Kelly, Ciaran O'Shaughnessy, Richie Kehoe and Ian Byrne all on target, the wind-assisted Model County had eased into a 0-10 to 0-0 lead by the 17th minute.

Pat Purcell eventually got UCD's first score, but the students still trailed by 0-5 to 0-17 at the interval.

With Laois' Ross King to the fore, the visitors improved after the restart, but the result was never in doubt as Joe Kelly's goal with eight minutes remaining added gloss to the scoreline.
