A statement by GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell on Andy Kettle's passing ...

"On behalf of the Gaelic Players Association I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and GAA colleagues of Dublin chairman Andy Kettle who passed away after a short illness.

"Andy was deeply committed to the development of Gaelic games both in his club Fingal Ravens and his county; he was a staunch ally of all the county's teams in hurling and football.

"His tenure as county chairman and on Central Council coincided with a period of great success in both codes for Dublin and he was only this year elevated to the GAA's Management Committee as the Leinster delegate.

"Andy wore his heart on his sleeve and his affection and public support for players will be remembered fondly by those with whom he served.

"Our condolences to his wife Phyllis, sons Patrick, Peter and Eoin and his daughters Niamh, Orla and Ciara.

"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam"

Dessie Farrell
CEO Gaelic Players Association
