RIP Lynsey Flood

Castleknock Hurling & Football Club have expressed their sadness following the tragic death of Ladies Football manager Lynsey Flood in a forklift accident.

A daughter of Michael Flood, who owns Expert Scaffolding in Castleknock, the 27-year-old sustained fatal injuries in a work-place accident yesterday morning.

A statement from the club reads: "It is with deep sadness we learned today of the untimely and tragic death of Lynsey Flood.

"We express out deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Lynsey through this most heartbreaking time. The Club are cancelling all matches and nursery this weekend as a mark of respect.

"Lynsey has been the Castleknock GAA Ladies Football Manager for the last year and has played with the club all through her juvenile years from the foundation of the club.

"Lynsey also represented the club at county level playing for Dublin. Lynsey was a brilliant character, generous, determined and a great influence on the girls she coached to both league and cup victory this year. Lynsey had made a massive contribution to our community and we will miss her deeply.

"We will make funeral details available here once we know.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.

"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílís."
