2015 Spring Series to feature a single double-header

November 03, 2014

At the launch of the Dublin Spring Series as part of the Allianz National Leagues are Dublin footballer Ger Brennan and Dublin hurler John McCaffrey.

Dublin's Croke Park Spring Series will feature just one football and hurling double-header in 2015.

It will take place on Saturday, March 7 when new hurling manager Ger Cunningham will face his native Cork in an Allianz League Division 1A third round clash at 5pm. This will be followed at 7pm by the Division 1 football fourth round meeting of Dublin and Tyrone.

The Dublin footballers' other home games against Donegal and Derry will also be staged at Croker, while Parnell Park will host the hurlers' other home fixtures against Tipperary and Galway. Last season's Spring Series went ahead without any double-headers.

The Spring Series initiative, which has combined live musical entertainment with playing home league games at GAA headquarters, is seen as a valuable promotional tool within Dublin GAA circles and has regularly attracted crowds of over 25,000.

Details of the Spring Series package will be announced in due course.
