Donegal's former footballer of the Year Karl Lacey is winning his fitness battle ahead of Sunday week's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Dublin.

The prognosis on Lacey's hamstring injury is positive according to manager Jim McGuinness.

He has made a very good recovery, he trained over the weekend," McGuinness revealed to the Irish Independent.

"We though it might be a wee bit worse. We thought it might be a grade two hamstring. But he trained with the medical team.

"His strength is back up to over 90pc and he will be integrated back with the group on Tuesday night."

Defender Neil McGee is also responding well to treatment on a hamstring injury he, like Lacey, aggravated against Armagh and has been cleared to return to training.
