O'Shea: Dubs have inside track on us

The presence of Tipperary men in the Dublin set-up is a concern for Eamon O'Shea ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final clash in Thurles.

Dublin coach Tommy Dunne, selector Richie Stakelum and player Ryan O'Dwyer know their native county inside out and O'Shea told the Irish Independent: "They're Leinster champions from last year, were in the All-Ireland semi-final and unlucky not to get to the final.

"And in my view, they're top contenders. They have beaten Wexford this year and they are now the form team - beat them in Wexford Park too.

"They know us very well and have very prominent Tipp men in Tommy Dunne, Richie Stakelum and Ryan O'Dwyer.

"They know our style, but, for us, this is the biggest match of the year in terms of being on our game.

"It will take a really good performance for us to get through. Dublin have been a top team for three or four years and we expect a mighty battle."

Defender Conor O'Mahony has emerged as a major concern for the Premier County with O'Shea saying: "Conor will be 50-50 in terms of whether he will be involved. He played on Sunday in a bit of a match, but he's going from session to session. His back is an ongoing problem there.

"Niall O'Meara is definitely out and Liam McGrath is not available."
