No rest for St. Eunan's dual players

A club in Donegal is being asked to play two senior championship matches in 24 hours this weekend.

Last night, the St. Eunan's senior hurlers were in semi-final action against Burt, while this evening it's the turn of their football counterparts who take on Killybegs.

The scheduling of the two games so close to each other led to St. Eunan's requesting that the football fixture be put back until tomorrow. However, the decision of the Donegal Competitions Control Committee to turn down the request has left the Letterkenny club's dual players Sean McVeigh, Conor Flood, Conor Parke, Sean Halvey, Brian McIntyre, Kevin Kealy and Niall O'Donnell - who captained the Donegal minors in their All-Ireland semi-final loss to Galway last Sunday - facing a hectic weekend.

Incidentally, St. Eunan's lost last night's SHC semi-final by 3-10 to 3-13 to Burt, who will now face Sean MacCumhaills (who defeated Setanta in the other semi-final by 2-14 to 1-12) in the county final.
