Conor McManus says assertions that Monaghan are a one-man team are disrespectful to his team-mates.

All Star attacker McManus is invariably the Farney County's top scorer on big match days and has registered 16 points already in two championship outings this summer. But he says talk suggesting that he carries the team is way off the mark:

"I don't know where people are coming from," the Clontibret ace told The Belfast Telegraph. "It is disrespectful to the other boys in the side. We have very exciting young players in the likes of Conor McCarthy, Ryan McAnespie and Daniel McKenna, who are all very capable of taking scores. We are a team in every sense of the word.

"Every team set out their Championship goals at the start of the year but for us, winning each match as it comes along is the priority. Monaghan football is in a good place now that we have won the Ulster U21 title and hold the senior title, but we must continue to challenge ourselves."
