With two defeats on the trot, Mayo manager Stephen Rochford has stressed the importance of defeating Donegal in round three of the NFL.

Losses to Cork and Dublin have left Mayo at the foot of the Division One table, but they now have three weeks to regroup and focus on the next match against Donegal.

Rochford told the Western People that they would use the break to try and refocus after there were plenty of positives to take from the defeat to Dublin last weekend.

"We have to go and get two points in Donegal. We talk about reactions and all that but ultimately we didn't get the two points against Dublin. We don't do moral victories in that dressingroom," stated Rochford.

"We're about winning games and we've got to get ourselves ready again this week, maybe up the fitness a bit and do some more sharp work to be ready for Donegal."
