Football: County final round-up

Rhode joined Tullamore at the top of the Offaly SFC roll of honour were capturing their 27th title courtesy of a 1-14 to 0-9 final victory over Ferbane in O'Connor Park.

Paul McPadden's 16th minute goal sent them on the road to victory and they held a commanding 1-9 to 0-3 advantage at the halfway stage.

County star Niall McNamee finished with six points to his credit.

Meanwhile, at Corrigan Park, the Antrim SFC final finished Cargin 1-10, St Gall's 0-6.

The game was only six minutes old when Tomas McCann found the back of the St Gall's net and the holders enjoyed a 1-9 to 0-2 cushion at the interval.

There were great scenes in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park as Mullinalaghta St Columba's celebrated their first Longford SFC final success since 1950 when edging out neighbours Abbeylara by 1-8 to 0-8.

Aidan McElligott's goal early in the second-half proved to be the difference between the sides at hte final whistle.

Meanwhile, Slaughtneil have completed a 'treble treble' of Derry SFC and SHC titles.

Shane McGuigan's first-half goal saw them go in at the break with a 1-6 to 0-3 lead over Loup at Owenbeg today and Mickey Moran's men ran out 2-11 to 0-6 winners in front of an attendance of 4,374.
