Message from Chairman: Numerous individuals in the past week have commented on the huge numbers of young people availing of our premises at Watty Graham Park. Yes folks, our summer camp has been in operation all week with 138 children (102 boys & girls at main camp and 36 children at Fundamental camp) enrolling for what has been a most enjoyable and successful camp. A programme of events was drawn up including trips to Drumlamph and Todd's leap in Co Tyrone. On behalf of the club I would like to express my gratitude to our esteemed leaders Bronagh Mulholland and Clare Leahy and the sixteen tutors who all give up of their free time voluntary throughout the week to make the venture such a success. There is no doubt that Bronagh and Clare must have the patience of saints. I would also like to thank John J for having the pitch in such prime condition and for ensuring the safe passage for all the drivers (some good and some bad) coming to collect their children each day. As mentioned earlier the venture has been a tremendous success and I have no doubt that many future stars that will represent Watty Graham's and Derry in football, camogie and ladies football were on show this week. It is important now that parents ensure that the 138 children maintain their interest in our games at Watty Graham's GAC, making use of our training sessions over the next year and by supporting our club at every opportunity. Why not begin by bringing them along to Owenbeg next Saturday evening to support our senior team in the Derry championship against Dungiven. Is mise le meas. Sean Keane.

The Road to Croker: Note from Roger McDermott for the attention of parents of Under 12 footballers regarding final checks for trip to Croke Park. (Roger's mobile number is 07748272603).......... Can you text me "car to croker" or "bus to croker" to let me know which way your son is traveling to Croke Park. Also please let me know how your son is traveling back home to Maghera on Tuesday after the games by texting "bus to glen" or "car to glen". Also please note your son must wear Glen socks & togs for the actual games and if possible wear Glen 1/2 zips/hoodies/colours for the trip. It is very important that your son wears a gum shield as he will not be allowed to play without one. Your son will need a packed lunch and snack for the trip and €10 pocket money as the bus will stop in the Applegreen on the return journey home. We are intending to leave glen club at 10:30am on Tuesday morning so as to assemble at Croke Park in the lower tier of the Cusack Stand for 2:15pm. Under 12 Management.

Minor Football: Our minors hosted Eoghan Rua on Monday evening for the first round of the minor championship. Glen were in control throughout the game and lead by four points at the break with Eunan Mulholland being scorer in chief. In the second period Glen continued to boss the game and going into the last quarter were nine points in the front. However credit to Eoghan Rua who never gave up and blasted home three goals, the third goal coming from a free kick in the last kick of the game to win by the narrowest of margins. A heart breaking end to the season for our minors but hopefully the lads will learn from the cruel defeat. Thanks to Conall, Sean and all the boys for their efforts throughout the season.

Under 16 Football: On Thursday evening, Glen travelled to Banagher to face Faughanvale in the championship. Glen were on top throughout and led by seven points at the break thanks in part to a Conleth McGuckian goal. Glen were rocked immediately after the restart when Faughanvale found the Glen net to reduce deficit to three points. However Glen soon regained their composure and grabbed points from Eunan Mulholland, Conleth McGuckian, Caolan Bradley and Jack McGilligan to win on a scoreline of Glen 1-11 Faughanvale 1-04. Well done to the team and management.
