Glen2Glen Cycle: On Sunday 13th September 2015 we are hosting another Glen2Glen Cycle, this time starting in Glen and finishing in Glen after a tour of South Derry. Our chosen charities this year are both local and very worthy - The Fort Centre (Riding School for the Disabled) and Charis Integrated Cancer Care. Registration costs £20 which will cover the cost of a specially commissioned jersey. Please download the registration form of the website and return to Eamon Convery, Sean Keane, Conor Molloy or Gene Devlin. Each cyclist is asked to raise a minimum of £150 sponsorship. After donations to both charities all the funds will be assigned to the provision of new floodlights for the top playing pitch. The new custom cycling jersey has been designed and is away to print, thanks to all those who provided sponsorship. We are now actively seeking families / individuals to sponsor £100 for each mile of the cycle. If not approached in coming weeks, please contact one of the organising committee.
Senior Football: Glen travelled to Owenbeg on Sunday evening for the opening round of the 2015 championship. The first half was well balanced with Ciaran McFaul and Cathal Mulholland getting the majority of the Glen scores. However Bellaghy broke through to score a first half goal to go in at the break leading on a scoreline Glen 0-06 Bellaghy 1-05. Glen soon got on level terms after the interval and with the game proving nip and tuck. In the last quarter Bellaghy scored a very fortunate goal when a shot for a point ended up in the Glen net. Glen battled well and John McCamley reduced the arrears with a well taken goal, however Bellaghy closed the game out with a series of points. Final score Glen 1-10 Bellaghy 2-14. Team Andy Warnock, Conor Gallagher, Sean Convery, Oisin Hegarty, Brendan O'Kane, Connor Carville, Cathal Mulholland, Johnny Bradley, Tommy McCloy, Ciaran McFaul, Ryan Dougan, Michael Warnock, Ryan Winton, Danny Tallon & Conor Convery.
