Ballinderry will play their first game since the passing of Aaron Devlin on Tuesday evening when they meet Ballinascreen in the opening round of the Derry SFC.

The game, which will throw in at 7.45pm at Owenbeg, is sure to be an emotional occasion for everyone associated with Ballinderry Shamrocks. The club is still coming to terms with the loss of Aaron, who was one of the most talented footballers in Derry.

The much-missed 23-year-old died in hospital on July 30 after contracting an aggressive strain of meningitis.

Meanwhile, last year's All-Ireland club finalists Slaughtneil begin their county title defence against Lavey in Owenbeg this evening. It will be preceded by the meeting of Bellaghy and Watty Graham's.

The other first round tie down for decision today is Foreglen v Newbridge in Dungiven.
