The funeral of Aaron Devlin will take place on Sunday.

News of the 22-year-old's passing yesterday saddened the entire GAA community. His death at Antrim Area Hospital came just six days after he was admitted with a virulent strain of meningitis on his brain. He complained of feeling unwell during a challenge match between his beloved Ballinderry and Dromore only last Wednesday.

A physiotherapist by profession, Aaron had studied at the University of Ulster Jordanstown. In his all-too-brief Ballinderry senior career, he won four Derry SFC medals and an Ulster club SFC medal in 2013. He also represented his county at minor, U21 and senior level.

Aaron's remains will leave his home at 77 Kinturk Road to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Ballinderry for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
