Glen2Glen Cycle: On Sunday 13th September 2015 we plan to replicate the success of 2013 and have another Glen2Glen Cycle, this time starting in Glen and finishing in Glen after a tour of South Derry. Our chosen charities this year are both local and very worthy - The Fort Centre (Riding School for the Disabled) and Charis Integrated Cancer Care. Registration costs £20 which will cover the cost of a specially commissioned jersey. Please download the registration form of the website and return to Eamon Convery. Registration continues on Friday evening in the Glen Centre 7.30 - 9pm. Each cyclist is asked to raise a minimum of £150 sponsorship. After donations to both charities all the funds will be assigned to the provision of new floodlights for the top playing pitch.
Results: Minor Football Bellaghy 4-15 Glen 2-10. Glen 2-08 Ballinascreen 6-20. Under 14 Football Glen 4-11 Lavey 4-07. Senior Football Glen 0-08 Ballinascreen 2013. See website for all forthcoming fixtures.
Camogie: The senior Camogs travelled to Glenullin on Monday evening for their league fixture.  Glen got off to a good start with a goal from Caoimhe Mulholland and Eimear McNicholl added two points from play before Glenullin hit the net against the run of play.  Caoimhe Mulholland got her first point of the game but this was cancelled out by a Glenullin point.  Naimh Gallagher converted a 45m free and the last score of the half came from Clare McGroggan from play leaving the half time score Glen 1-5 Glenullin 1-1.  Glen had had most of the possession in the first half but were very wasteful in front of goal and should have been much further ahead at the short whistle. Naimh McKenna replaced Rachel Glasgow at half time.  The second half was a different matter with Glen getting into scoring action straight away added four points from play, two from Eimear McNicholl and two from Naimh Gallagher, within five minutes.  Eimear McNicholl added another point before Danielle Kivlehan entered the fray replacing Fiona Glasgow.  Naimh Gallagher sent the ball over the bar from a narrow angle before Glenullin got their only score of the half a long range point.  Sinead Dillon then got in on the act pointing under pressure.  Naimh Gallagher added another point to her tally.  Therese Dillon made her debut appearance replacing Eimear McNicholl.  Caoimhe Mulholland, who was having a great game struck again with a fine point and not to be outdone Naimh Gallagher split the posts tagging on another point.  The final score of the game fittingly came from Caoimhe Mulholland when despite being held off the ball managed to get her toe to it and forced the ball over the line to leave the final score Glen 2-15 Glenullin 1-2.
This was an excellent second half performance with all scores coming from open play except one 45m free and should give the girls confidence going into the championship game against the same opposition. Team and scorers: Laura Coyle, Ciara Mulholland, Rebecca Ferguson, Amy Glasgow, Aoife McGuckian, Clare McGroggan(0-1), Hannah Ferguson, Catherine McKenna, Danielle McCrystal, Sinead Dillon(0-1), Naimh Gallagher (0-6), Fiona Glasgow, Caoimhe Mulholland(2-2), Rachel Glasgow, Eimear McNicholl (0-5). Subs Naimh McKenna, Therese Dillon, Danielle Kivlehan, Nuala Noonan & Shauna Moohan.
On Sunday at noon the girls played their second league game of the week. Despite being minus a few regulars due to holidays and injuries Glen got off to a good start and Rachel Glasgow got the scoreboard moving when she pointed.  This was followed quickly by a further point this time Caoimhe Mulholland did the damage.  Glen's dominance out field was then put on the scoreboard when Naimh Gallagher hit the back of the net twice. Caoimhe Mulholland added her second point before her cousin Clare McGroggan got her first point of the game. Naimh Gallagher struck again with a point and Caoimhe Mulholland kept the scoreboard moving when she pointed again.  The final score of the half came from Daniel Kivlehan after a good solo run from defence leaving the half time score Glen 2-7 Greenlough no score.
Greenlough got off the mark right for the restart hitting the net before Glen could get their injured players bandaged and back into the game. The visitors added two further points before Naimh Gallagher got us off the mark for the second half. The weather conditions were not ideal and this left scores very hard to get for the remainder of the game.  Clare McGroggan added to her tally when she sent the ball over the bar for the final score of the game leaving the full time score Glen 2-9 Greenlough 1-2.  With so many girls being unavailable for selection it was a good opportunity for the others to impress the management and indeed it certainly showed that there is strength and depth within the squad. Team and scorers: Laura Coyle, Ciara Mulholland, Amy Glasgow, Fiona Glasgow, Danielle Kivlehan (0-1), Hannah Ferguson, Aoife McGuckian, Clare McGroggan (0-2), Catherine McKenna, Sinead Dillon, Naimh Gallagher (2-2), Eimear McNicholl, Therese Dillon, Rachel Glasgow(0-1), Caoimhe Mulholland (0-3) & Shauna Moohan.

The Under 14's played Lavey in the championship at Magherafelt on Saturday morning.  Lavey got off to the better start converting a free and then adding a goal before Sinead Gallagher opened our scoring with a point from play.  Sinead then levelled the score with a goal.  Lavey sneaked ahead with a pointed free but Glen replied with three points from Sinead Gallagher, Aoibheann Molloy and Rachel McCusker.  Lavey then got another goal to take the lead again but Rachel McCusker's point left the game all square at the break on a scoreline of Glen 1-5 Lavey 2-2.
Lavey hit the ground running in the second half and hit three unanswered goals.  Despite the gap the Glen girls didn't drop their heads and worked hard to get back into the game.  Their work was rewarded with a point by Clare Gunning and this was followed by a goal by Aoibheann Molloy.  The flight back was halted when Lavey struck goal again.  Clare Gunning hit back with a goal and Sinead Gallagher added a point but despite all the players efforts they couldn't pull back the deficit before time ran out leaving the full time score Glen 3-7 Lavey 6-2. Hard luck girls but they have had a good year and should be very pleased with the years' work.
