McLean feels pressure is off

Derry manager Tom McLean feels that the pressure is off them now they are in the Christy Ring Cup semi-final.

The Oakleafers saw off the challenge of London by a solitary point to book their place in the last four next Saturday week.

And McLean is hoping that his charges can express themselves more in the coming weeks of the second tier championship.

"Maybe we will open up a wee bit now that the pressure's off," McLean said to the County Derry Post. "We're into the semi-final and we'll be looking forward to that in two weeks' time, all being well.

"We'll try and get them to take the shackles off. It looks like we're maybe going out there and trying not to get beat rather than going out and winning the game. But as I say it's a step into the semi-final. It's new territory and we'll forward to it."
