Senior Football: Our seniors took on Kilrea on Saturday evening at Watty Graham Park. Glen started without a host of regulars due to injury. Kilrea settled quicker and opened the scoring with a James Kielt free and soon went further in front with a goal. Glen then settled into the game and scored five unanswered points from Ryan Winton, Conor Glass, Danny Tallon, Ciaran McFaul and Ryan Dougan. James Kielt and Ciaran McFaul then traded points from dead balls to leave the half time score Glen 0-07 Kilrea 1-08. Kilrea then got the perfect start to the second period when the found the Glen net straight from the throw in, however the home side responded well and scored points from Ciaran McFaul (2) and Ryan Winton (3). With the game in the balance in the final few minutes, Kilrea scored yet another goal to put the result beyond doubt. Two well matched teams with the goals being the major difference. Final score Glen 0-12 Kilrea 3-09. Glen scorers Ryan Winton (0-04), Conor Glass (0-01), Danny Tallon (0-01), Ciaran McFaul (0-05) and Ryan Dougan (0-01).
Glen's next league fixture against Ballinderry has been brought forward to Friday night (15th). Throw in 7.15pm at Watty Graham Park. The reserve game will possibly be played on Sunday morning. Keep an eye on the website for confirmation.
Reserve Football: The senior reserve panel produced their best display of the season to date with a commanding 16 point win over Kilrea on Sunday. Glen controlled the game from the first whistle to the last whistle and played some great football throughout. Seanny McGroggan opened the scoring with a point and this was added to with points from Conor Convery, Paul Gunning and Michael Warnock. Blaine O'Donnell entered the fray in place of the injured Ryan Martin. Shay Gormley got the first goal of the game as half time approached with Ryan Bradley unselfishly fisting the ball across goal for him to easily convert. Our tight marking defence were each winning their individual battles and restricted Kilrea to just 4 points in the opening half. Half Time Score: Glen 1-06 Kilrea 0-04. That good first half performance was added to by an even better second half performance in which a total of 2-12 was added to the Glen score. With some excellent balls being played into the full forward line the on-song duo of Paul Gunning and Conor Convery continued to fire the ball over the bar at will. Marc Cudden stepped up his game in the second half and ended up scoring 2 further goals for the Watty's and also managed to bag himself 3 points from play. Shane Turner made his return to football when he replaced Conor McDevitt. Once again our defence controlled that area effectively and restricted Kilrea to 4 points again but the visitors did manage to get through for a goal late in the half with the game well put to bed by that stage. Full Time Score: Glen 3-18 Kilrea 1-08. A great performance by all. Team & Scorers: Aodhan McGrath, Brendan O'Kane, Conor McDevitt, Colm Sargent, Michael Gormley, Damien Maguire, Ryan Martin, Michael Warnock (0-01), Cahir McCabe, Ryan Bradley, Seanny McGroggan (0-01), Marc Cudden (2-03), Paul Gunning (0-06), Conor Convery (0-07), Shay Gormley (1-00). Subs: Blaine O'Donnell for Ryan Martin, Shane Turner for Conor McDevitt.
Camogie: The senior Camogs travelled to Greenlough for their re arranged league game.  Due to work commitments Glen were missing numerous regulars from the team and this prompted the return of Caoimhe Moran to the fold. Glen were to prove too strong for Greenlough and right from the off went on the attack.  Roisin McCabe got us off the mark with an early goal, this was followed quickly by a similar score by Meabh McGirr and Caoimhe Mulholland added another. Naimh Gallagher got the first point of the game and Caoimhe Moran pointed before Roisin McCabe got her second goal.  Greenlough got their only score of the game, a pointed free but this was cancelled out by Meabh McGirr's next score. Naimh Gallagher added a pointed free to her tally closely followed by Caoimhe Mulholland's next point. Naimh Gallagher finished the scoring for the half with a goal and a point leaving the half time score Glen 5-6 Greenlough 0-1. Roisin McCabe hit her hat trick of goals early in the second half, Caoimhe Moran added a point before substitute Eimear McNicholl scored two fine points from play.  Caoimhe Moran converted a 45m free before Eimear McNicholl pointed from long range.  Any flurries Greenlough had into Glen territory were easily dealt with by the Glen defence keeping them scoreless in this half.  Caoimhe Moran and Meabh McGirr finished the scoring with points leaving the final score Glen 6-13 Greenlough 0-1. Team and scorers: Rachel Glasgow, Ciara Mulholland, Rebecca Ferguson, Aoife McGuckian, Nuala Convery, Clare McGroggan, Hannah Ferguson, Naimh McKenna, Caoimhe Glass, Roisin McCabe (3-0), Caoimhe Moran(0-4), Meabh McGirr 1-2), Danielle Kivlehan, Naimh Gallagher(1-3), Caoimhe Mulholland(1-1), Eimear McNicholl (0-3).

Under 14 Camogie: The u-14 Camogs had 2 games this week.  They played Swatragh away on Thursday evening and came out convincing winners on a scoreline of Glen 7-3 Swatragh 0-3. Clare Gunning scoring an excellent 5-1, Aoibheann Molloy and Rachel McCusker getting the other 2 goals while Ellen Kelly got 2 points. The girls faced Lavey on Saturday minus Clare Gunning who sustained an ankle injury and despite their best efforts lost on a scoreline of Glen 2-2 Lavey 4-4.  The 2 goals were scored by Aoibheann Molloy, Aisling Porter and Ellen Kelly got the point. Team: Annie Ni Lochlainn, Holly Gunn, Naimh McCusker, Cliona Convery, Emma Curry, Aisling Porter, Ciara Murray, Rachel McCusker, Sinead Gallagher, Mary Ni Lochlainn, Ellen Kelly, Dervla McGuckian, Aoibheann Molloy, Clare Gunning, Orla Winton, Molly Clifford, Naimh Gallagher, Aisling Fullerton, Lisa Porter, Caitlin Bryson and Aoife Molloy.

Ladies Football: All County Ladies Senior Football league Round 5. Glen Ladies went to Ballinascreen hoping to keep their 100% league record intact. Glen started the half well with 2 points in the first seven minutes from B O'Loughlin and D Kivlehan. Glen were on top for the majority of the first half but had left their shooting boots at home. They were extremely wasteful in the remaining 20 minutes despite dominating the possession. Wing half forward Orla Higgins was excellent in this period forcing a lot of turnovers and went on to have a brilliant 60 minute display. In this time Ballinascreen hit two points of their own and Glen finally managed to register another 2 points through F Glasgow and C McGroggan to leave them 2 points up at half time. Half time: Glen 0-04 Ballinascreen 0-02. Glen started the second half in much more clinical style. C McGroggan hit the first point of the second half within 60 seconds of the throw in. M Cassidy then hit a goal after C Moran's initial shot had been well saved by the Ballinascreen goal keeper. Points quickly followed from C Moran, B O'Loughlin (2), D McMaster and second half substitute C McKenna. The final score of the game was from second half substitute C Leahy who goaled with an emphatic finish. Ballinascreen failed to score in the second half and that was due to an extremely resolute defensive display as a unit. Special mention to Fiona McCrory who was making her Glen debut today and to all the minor players as it was their second game in 24 hours after getting beat by Steelstown in the league decider the previous night. Full time: Glen 2-10 Ballinascreen 0-02. Team: B Cassidy Caoimhe Mullholland M McGrath F McCrory S Kerr D McMaster (0-01) Ciara Mullholland C Moran (0-01) B Heavron O Higgins D Kivlehan (0-01) C McGroggan (0-02) F Glasgow (0-01) B O'Loughlin M Cassidy (1-00) Subs: L O'Loughlin for F Glasgow C McKenna (0-01) for M Cassidy C Leahy (1-00) for Ciara Mullholland. Next up is Steelstown on Monday night in Glen at 7.30pm.  Both teams have not lost a game in the league this season and all support would be welcome.
