Chairman's Quarterly Address: I am glad to report that things are really buzzing again in the early stages of the 2015 season. On the Scór front our underage dancers were unlucky to be beaten in the All Ireland final (yes final) of this year's competition in Dublin. The Senior Scór reached its conclusion on Saturday evening in Silverbridge with our dancers, ballad group and Leiriú participating in the Ulster Final and unlucky not to win. Underage camogie and ladies football have availed of underage indoor training throughout the winter/early spring and early results achieved in recent league fixtures would endorse this approach. The minor footballers are to be congratulated on winning the now customary St Paul's Ulster minor tournament for an unprecedented fourth time. The trend has now continued to our under 21 team where recently this team lifted the Ulster under 21 championship for the first time. This all augurs well for the future with these young players having gained invaluable experience at the highest level which will help when they progress to senior level. Our senior footballers have been training strenuously over the past few months and are now looking forward to our first league of the season against our neighbouring All Ireland finalists Slaughtneil. I am glad to report that the new ball-wall, main Glenshane entrance and other improvements to premises at Falgortrevy Road have been completed by deadline dates - many thanks to all those members who helped in any way. Finally, as you are all aware our Lotto is one of our chief means of raising income. Next week the jackpot is £6000 - could I ask all of our members to purchase a ticket and if possible promote possible sales with your neighbours, friends and workmates. Le meas, Sean Keane.
Senior Football: Glen travelled to Lavey on Sunday for the first round of the Larkin Cup.  They found themselves short of a few regulars for various reasons but this gave others a chance to prove themselves. Lavey got off to the perfect start finding themselves up by five points after just a few minutes through a goal and point from play and a pointed free.  Glen then settled in to the game and opened their account with a major score when Cathal Mulholland sent a good pass into Ryan Winton who showed his marker a clean pair of heels then sent the ball across the square where Connlan Bradley palmed the ball to the net.  Glen's soon added another score when Conor Convery was fouled, the resulting free was taken quickly to Seanny McGroggan who pointed.  Lavey's full forward struck next with a point from play.  Cathal Mulholland got his name on the score sheet when he pointed after good approach play by Seanny McGroggan and Ryan Winton.  Midway through the half Connlan Bradley added another point after receiving the ball from Conor Convery.  Ryan Winton put Glen into the lead with a fine point from play.  Lavey equalised before Brendan O`Kane received a black card for a trip, he was replaced by Conor McDevitt.  Lavey then took the lead with another point from play but this was cancelled out by a pointed free from Conor Convery.  Lavey got the last two scorers of the half, a point from a free and one from play after Glen gave away easy possession from a free.  Lavey went in at half time on a scoreline of Glen 1-5 Lavey 1-7. Glen hit the first score of the half when Tommy McCloy was fouled and Conor Convery pointed.  Lavey then had a purple patch when they scored six unanswered points before Seanny McGroggan stopped the onslaught with a point from play but again Lavey got the next score.  Glen then seemed to get to grips with the opposition and the comeback was on when Tommy McCloy sent a good ball into Danny Tallon who hit the net.  After a good move from Cathal Mulholland and Conor Convery Cathal sent the ball over the bar.  The same two players were involved in the next score when Conor Convery pointed a free after Cathal Mulholland was fouled.  Seannie McGroggan narrowed the gap adding another point to his tally.  Caolan O'Boyle scored Lavey's next point before Conor Convery added a pointed free but the game was put beyond Glen's reach by a late Lavey goal.  Glen tried hard to get the equalizer but the best they could do was a Danny Tallon pointed free to leave the final score Glen 2-12 Lavey 2-15. Team and scorers: Ciaran McCloy, Ryan McDonnell, Phillip O'Connell, Oisin Hegarty, Odhran Bradley, Conor Gallagher, Brendan O`Kane, Tommy McCloy, Ryan Dougan, Seannie McGroggan(0-3) Danny Tallon(1-1), Cathal Mulholland(0-2), Conor Convery(0-4) Connlan Bradley(1-1), Ryan Winton(0-1). Sub used Conor McDevitt.

Reserve Football: The reserve panel took on Lavey in their third league game and with only 27 players available for both the senior and reserve games they had to play the game as 13-a-side, with goalkeeper Ciaran McCloy having to mind the nets in both games. Lavey were quickest out of the blocks and their opening score was a goal, and they soon added a number of points. Glen got on the board with a Ryan Bradley free kick and a point from roving defender Conor Carville. Lavey added a further goal and a point before the half with a point from Andrew Warnock our only further score. Half Time Score: Lavey 2-04 Glen 0-03. With the wind now at their back the lads in defence and midfield sent long first time ball into the two man full forward line of Ryan Bradley and Paul Gunning and after a goal from Ryan Bradley and points from Paul Gunning (2), Carville and Colm Sargent there was just one point in the game. However an unfortunate error by Ciaran McCloy saw Lavey get their third goal. Despite this the lads continued to work and battle hard and with Paul Gunning on fire up top scoring four unanswered points in a row there was just two between the sides approaching injury time. The last play seen Conor Carville have a shot on goal to win the game but his shot was just too high and sailed over the bar. Full Time Score: Lavey 3-06 Glen 1-11. A better first half showing would have no doubt seen a third victory but it wasn't to be - a lot of positives to be taken from the general play and work rate in the second half however. Team & Scorers: Ciaran McCloy, Declan Brolly, Conor Carville (0-03), Ryan Martin, Michael Gormley, Tomas Convery, Conor McDevitt, Andrew Warnock (0-01), Colm Sargent (0-01), Shay Gormley, Paul Gunning (0-05), Ryan Bradley (1-01), Kevin McErlean.

Minor Ladies: Glen minor ladies continued their recent good form with a 3-08 to 2-05 victory against Limavady. The platform for this victory was set by an excellent performance from the entire defence and was epitomised by debutant Meabh McGirr. McNicholl and McGroggan dominated the midfield second and contributed with a goal and a point between them.  They set up a great platform for the forwards. Breena O'Loughlin top scored with 1-06 and Lauren Kelly hit another goal, her fourth in four games.  Ciara Gallagher also made a welcome return from injury and chipped in with point.  Special mention also goes to Ellen Kelly who made an impressive debut. R Glasgow, D McKenna, A Glasgow, Caoimhe Mulholland, L O'Loughlin, M McGirr, C McGroggan (0-01), D McNicholl (1-00), A Carlin, B O'Loughlin, (1-06) E Kelly, L Kelly (1-00), and C Gallagher (0-01).

Scór: The Scor Sinsir Ulster finals took place in Silverbridge Co Armagh on Saturday. We were represented in the Ceile Dancing, Leiriú and Ballad Group competitions. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful on the night, however well done to all who took part and represented our club so well.
Camogie: The Under-14 Camogs made the short journey to neighbour's Slaughtneil on Saturday morning for the quarter final of the Feile.  The same pairing played at u-13 level with Slaughtneil coming out winners by one point so a close encounter was expected. Glen were first off the mark with a point from play by Clare Gunning.  This was a great confidence boost for the girls and they continued to attack forcing a 45m free which was pointed by Sinead Gallagher.  Any Slaughtneil attack was thwarted by the steady Glen defence and the hard working mid field provided good possession for the forwards.  Clare Gunning added a further two points from play before Slaughtneil got their first score, a point from a free.  This proved to be the last score of the half with Glen going in at half time on a scoreline of Glen 0-4 Slaughtneil 0-1. The second half saw Glen playing good attacking camogie but were not putting it on the scoreboard, sometimes taking too much out of the ball.  The next score came when Sinead Gallagher sent in a good ball from a 45m free, this was well claimed by Aoibheann Molloy who hit the back of the net. Aoibheann obviously has taken her scoring prowess from her uncle Conor.  This gave Glen a 6 point cushion but they didn't sit back.  The work rate of the girls was excellent and their tackling was first class not allowing Slaughtneil clean possession.  They tracked back well and didn't allow Slaughtneil to score at all in the second half.  Glen's final score of the game came after Clare Gunning made a strong run through the defence laying the ball off to Ellen Kelly who scored an excellent point to leave the final score of Glen 1-5 Slaughtneil 0-1. This was a great performance by the girls and they now progress to the semi-final next week against Newbridge, date and time to be confirmed, check the website for details and get along and support these young girls. Team and scorers: Aisling Porter, Cliona Convery, Niamh McCusker, Holly Gunn, Megan McGonigle, Ellen Kelly(0-1), Ceara  Murray, Sinead Gallagher(0-1), Rachel McCusker, Mary Ni Lochlainn, Clare Gunning(0-3), Emma Curry, Aoife Molloy,  Aoibheann Molly(1-0), Aoife Higgins, Dervla McGuckian for Aoife Higgins, Orla Winton, Cora McEldowney, Aisling Fullerton, Naimh Gallagher.
