Derry hurling manager Tom McLean was delighted after the narrow Division 2A victory in Greenford.
The Oak Leaf County battled to a 1-10 to 1-9 victory over the Exiles in poor conditions in west London on Saturday and he told The Derry News afterwards:
"I said all week before we came over here that this was going to be a very tricky match and so it was. We are delighted to get out with a win and it maintains our good start to the league.
"We have now done enough to secure our status in Division 2A so everything we do from here on in is in bonus territory. That is where we are now. We have two big home matches to come, so we are in a good position.
"It was difficult to hurl in these conditions and it was a real scrap, especially in the second half, so we were relieved to come through with a victory. In these type of games, all that matters is getting the result."
