Derry midfielder Fergal Doherty is set to feature in his first competitive game of the year against Tyrone on Saturday night.

With a shortage of players at midfield, Doherty is being fast tracked back into the side and Derry manager Brian McIver stated to the County Derry Post that he should play some part in the match.

"Hopefully Fergal will play some part on Saturday night and I'd be hopeful that James Kielt might do the same," said McIver.

Derry will be hoping to return to winning ways have lost their last match to Kerry, but they must do so without their captain Mark Lynch who had his appeal against a one match ban upheld.

The Oakleafers may be able to call on Dermot McBride and Carlus McWilliams both of whom are edging closer to full fitness.
