Under 21's: Glen headed off to Creggan on Sunday for the Under 21 Ulster final, their opposition this time being St Joseph's, an amalgamation of three Cavan clubs. The weather conditions were not ideal for good football but thankfully this didn't take away from the game. St Joseph's got off the mark first with a point from play within the first minute after Glen had given away possession from a side-line kick. The lead was short lived however as Glen worked the ball up the pitch with a move involving Conor Glass, Emmett Bradley, Ciaran McFaul and Michael Warnock who cut through the defence sending the ball across the face of the goals where Conor Convery palmed the ball into the net. St Joseph's went on the attack and could have scored a goal but for two great saves by Ciaran McCloy, with the resulting 45 going wide. Michael Warnock added a point to his tally in the fifth minute. Both teams were finding the underfoot conditions difficult and neither team could get a score on the board for about ten minutes. Glen, through a good point by Ryan Dougan, put four points between the sides. St Joseph's got their second point of the game from a free. This was cancelled out by a pointed free by Emmett Bradley. At this stage Conor Gallagher entered the fray. With time running out in this half St Joseph's pulled back two points from frees but Glen did get the last score of the half when Emmett Bradley passed to Ciaran McFaul who in turn released Conor Convery to slot the ball into the net for his second goal of the game. This was the last score of the half leaving the half time score Glen 2-3 St Joseph's 0-4.The Cavan side started strongly in the second half and got another point from a placed ball. Glen replied immediately with team captain Michael Warnock scoring a fine point from play. St Joseph's pulled one back from a free but Glen were in control of the game and Ciaran McFaul split the posts with a fine effort from play. Paul Gunning, who was unlucky not to have started the game, replaced Cahir McCabe. St Joseph's added a point from play which proved to be their last score of the game with ten minutes to go. Glen continued to attack and were rewarded with a point from Conor Glass. They added two points from frees one by Ciaran McFaul when Danny Tallon was fouled and the other from Emmett Bradley when Michael Warnock was fouled. Danny Tallon added a good long range point and the final score of the game was a fine point from Stephen O'Hara. Kevin McErlain replaced Conor Convery and entering stoppage time Paul Gunning had a goal disallowed for a somewhat dubious call for square ball but this didn't affect the outcome of the game with Glen victorious on a scoreline of Glen 2-11 St Joseph's 0-7. Michael Warnock accepted the Paddy McLarnon cup on behalf of the team. Conor Convery was awarded the trophy for top scorer of the tournament and Ryan Dougan was named man of the match.Well done to all involved in this historic win - another great day to be a Watty.Team and scorers: Ciaran McCloy, Oisin Hegarty, Ryan McDonnell, Conor McDevitt, Cathal Mulholland, Conor Glass(0-1), Brendan O`Kane, Ryan Dougan(0-2), Emmett Bradley(0-2), Danny Tallon(0-1), Ciaran McFaul(0-2), Michael Warnock(0-2) Cahir McCabe, Stephen O'Hara(0-1), Conor Convery(2-0), subs used Conor Gallagher for Conor McDevitt and Kevin McErlain for Conor Convery
