Under 21's: On Sunday our Under 21's made their first visit to the Creggan grounds for the quarter final of the Ulster Championship, with Scotstown from Co. Monaghan providing the opposition. Glen played against the breeze in the opening period however it didn't prove to be much of a hindrance as Glen stated brightly with Ciaran McFaul opening the scoring with a fine point. Oisin Hegarty then saw his penalty shot go over the bar after Ryan Dougan was upended. Scotstown played their way into the game and soon were on level terms. The teams traded further points before a series of pointed frees by Emmet Bradley left Glen going into the interval leading on a scoreline of 0-06 to 0-04. Glen pushed further ahead after the restart with points from Ciaran McFaul and Emmet Bradley before Ryan Dougan got in on the act when he blasted to the net. Scotstown to their credit staged a revival and reduced the margin to four points. Glen soon regained control and the result was put beyond doubt when Paul Gunning collected a long ball from Conor Glass and coolly lobbed the out coming keeper to the net. Further points came from Conor Convery, Ciaran McFaul, Emmet Bradley and Michael Warnock with the final score coming from Cahair McCabe when he palmed a Conor Glass pass to the net. Final score Glen 3-12 Scotstown 0-07. Glen will now play St John's Belfast in the semi-final. Keep an eye on the club website for confirmation of date and time.

Camogie Donation to Respiratory Ward AAH: Elizabeth Convery who passed away on 13th October 2013 was honorary president of Watty Graham's Camogie Club. At Glen's annual underage Camogie blitz held in the summer, a donation box in Elizabeth's memory was in place. The family requested that all donations received be given to the Respiratory ward of Antrim Area Hospital who cared so well for their mother. On Wednesday evening, a cheque for £210 was handed over to Anne Monaghan who is a nurse in the Respiratory Ward in Antrim Area Hospital. This can now be added to previous money which was previously raised by the family and was presented to the hospital in summer 2014. Well done to all involved.

Camogie: On Sunday Glen Camogs headed to Magherafelt to take part in a recreational Camogie blitz organised by Ulster Camogie Council.  All players had to be out of competitive camogie for at least two years.  There were teams from Derry, Antrim and Down.  Glen played five games, their opponents being Bellaghy, Portglenone, Swatragh, Ballycastle and Ballinderry. Despite the Glen team bring somewhat more mature than their opposition they won 3 out of their 5 games.  All involved had and enjoyable day and the competitive spirit of the players certainly hadn't diminished from their playing days.  Hopefully all were able to make it to work on Monday despite their aching muscles.  Well done to all who took part.
