Conway seeks 2007 repeat

Rock manager Niall Conway is aiming to win his second Ulster club JFC title with the Tyrone outfit this weekend.

Conway previously guided St. Patrick's to Ulster glory in 2007 - the same year as he managed the Derry minors to an All-Ireland final appearance against Galway - and is hoping to repeat the feat with victory over Donegal champions Urris at Owenbeg on Saturday.

And, as was the case seven years ago, the former Ballinderry star is once again assisted by his cousin, Paul Conway.

"For the two of us to experience this again is great, but it's down to the players. With the work they have put in, I think they deserve to be where they're at," he is quoted in the Tyrone Courier.

Conway is under no illusions about the task facing his side.

"They (Urris) beat the Cavan champions, and I think the Cavan champions had three Cavan U21s, all in central positions.

"And to beat Keady, who put out Dromhowan, the Monaghan champions, was a big result, because Monaghan teams are always very strong in the competition. They have done very, very well to get to the final, and I'm sure their confidence is high, and they'll feel they have as good a chance as the Rock to win the final."
