Slaughtneil's Christopher Bradley celebrates his goal against Clontibret. INPHO

Assistant manager John Joe Kearney feels Slaughtneil produced their most complete performance of the year in defeating Clontibret.

Centre forward Christopher Bradley's goal just after half-time paved the way for a 1-9 to 0-7 victory as the Derry champions qualified for their first Ulster club SFC final against Omagh St. Enda's in a fortnight's time.

"The goal at the start of the second half set us on our way and we were really in control after that," Kearney noted in the Irish News.

"For the hour, that has been the best performance we put in. In the second half last week (against Cavan Gaels), for whatever reason, we 'died' - that wasn't going to happen today.

"The second half was a testament to our players' resolve to win that match and get to an Ulster final."

Clontibret manager Dominic Corrigan accepted that the better team won.

"The goal at the start of the second half was the big killer," he reflected.

"We could have clawed back a two or three-point deficit, but once it went to five against a quality side like Slaughtneil, who are very fit and well organised, it was going to be very difficult to get five back so we were playing catch-up throughout the second half and it wasn't good."
