Manager Mickey Glover felt for his players after Slaughtneil's exit from the Ulster club hurling championship.

The Derry champions took Antrim kingpins Cushendall to a replay before bowing out of the provincial competition last weekend.

"I'm devasted for the lads," the losing manager told The Derry Post. "They've put a mighty effort in the last four years, never mind this year.

"We've two back-to-back senior hurling championships but we wanted to see this year if we could take it one stage further.

"Obviously that's not going to happen this year and I'm totally devastated for the lads."
