Slaughtneil full back Brendan Rogers would love a call-up to the Derry senior football squad.
Rogers, who had been a member of the Derry senior hurling squad for the last two years, kept Ryan Bell scoreless in the 2014 Derry SFC final and has his fingers crossed that his displays en route to John McLaughlin Cup glory captured the attention of Brian McIver:
"You look to play that from when you're a young boy," he says in The Derry Post. "I don't know - if other players can do the dual thing, why can I not?
"I've years to go. I don't think I need to be choosing between the two just yet.
"It becomes a lifestyle, a way of life. I don't know what to do with my evenings if I'm not training. I genuinely don't know what to do."
