Preparation work is currently taking place to get the drive way and car park ready for tarmacing. The gullies have been installed and curbing have both been installed. The tarmac contract is currently out to tender until September 26th and will hopefully take place in October. With such extensive grounds the priorities are the main entrance and drive, upper car park and along the side of the hall. It is hoped we could get the lower car park done but the club will have to raise a significant amount of money to allow this phase to take place at this moment in time.
The senior footballers played Foreglen in their penultimate league at Davitt Park on Friday night past. With Foreglen needing the two points to force a playoff with Steelstown and the Davitts having already secured division one status for 2015, the O'Briens were much the hungrier side. Swatragh featured a few personnel changes from the previous game albeit some through injury. Foreglen eventually won out on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-08.
The U13 hurlers were away to Banagher on Saturday past where they lost to the hosts 0-07 to 0-04 but then beat St Eunan's of Letterkenny 2-03 to 0-02.
Club lotto numbers on Saturday past were 2,4,5 and 19. There were no jackpot winners but lucky dip winners were Kevin Doherty and Brendan McGuckin (Brandy). Jackpot currently stands at £3600. Bingo takes place every Sat night at 9pm with the jackpot at £2500 for 42 numbers.
Would you like to do the club lotto every week? Is there ever a week when you forget or are on holiday? How would you feel if that was the week your numbers came up? The jackpot has went twice in the last 4 months with both winners receiving at least £5000!!! Worry not, you can sign up for a standing order which means you don't have to fill out a slip every week but will still be entered and can use your same numbers without fear of ever forgetting them. Call into to club registrar Noel McGrath and he can sign you up in a matter of minutes.
