The Senior footballers enjoyed an excellent victory over Glen in the Championship Quarter Final at Celtic Park on Saturday. Final score Castledawson 2-11 Glen 1-08. Team: Neil O'Kane, Ronan O'Kane, Danny Devlin, Niall Keenan, Mickey Hicks, Paddy Henry, Ciaran O'Kane, Aidan McElhone, Declan Lavery, Aidy Bradley. Niall McNicholl, Aidan Keenan, Conor Scullion, Martin Heaney, Ruari Shivers. Subs used: Martin O'Kane, Colm Lavery and Joseph O'Kane.

The Under 10 boys had a great victory in the Cargin Blitz on Saturday. The Tir na nOg minors and Under 16s exited the Championship with defeats to Claudy and Steelstown.

Congratulations to Claire O'Kane who has been selected as Derry Camogie Player of the decade as part of the Camogie association's 110th year celebrations. Claire will be presented with her award on All Ireland Camogie Finals day in Croke Park in September. Well done Claire on this tremendous achievement.

The Seamus Heaney Commemorative Stamp issued by the Irish Republic's mail service An Post features a black and white portrait of the Nobel laureate. A specially commissioned envelope is also on sale inscribed with an extract of Heaney's 1969 poem Bogland. Both the stamps and envelopes can be viewed and purchased at all main post offices, at the GPO Stamp Shop in Dublin's O'Connell Street and online at irishstamps.ie.
