Brian McIver says the club V county fixtures schedule in Derry still needs to be sorted out to the benefit of all.

The fixtures scheduling in Derry this year saw the Oak Leaf County lose a number of players between their Ulster SFC defeat to Donegal and their disappointing Qualifier clash with Longford.

"It proved last year to be a big factor," their manager says in The Belfast Telegraph.

"The whole schedule and the fixture planning for club and county hasn't been thoroughly addressed.

"I do think further down the line that it is going to have to be much better tackled to ensure there is a set calendar out there.

"That will mean that clubs have access to county players equally as counties can have the club players when they really need them."
