Michael Davitt GAC Swatragh club notes

August 11, 2014
Swa Camp takes place this week everyday from 10am to 2pm. Good luck to all involved and special thanks to all the volunteers who make this possible.

The senior footballers were in league action twice this week away from home to both Kilrea and Ballinderry. Unfortunately neither game yielded any points for the Davitts as Kilrea scored two late goals to win 2-15 to 0-08 and Ballinderry won out on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-09.

The reserve hurlers exited the championship at the hands of Slaughtneil in the quater final on Friday past at Emmett Park. In a tightly contested affair the Emmetts won out on a scoreline of 1-15 to 0-14. The U14 hurlers defeated Ballinascreen in the semi final of their championship 4-05 to 2-04 to book a place in the final.

The club is hoping to organise a charity cycle in association with Carn Wheelers later in the year. There would be three routes involved with a novice, intermediate and experienced circuit to cover all levels of ability. We are aware that other clubs are organising their own cycle dates so we do not wish to clash. The initial date would be early September so that would give us 12 weeks to get organised. Please contact the club if you have any ideas or suggestions for dates and routes.

Club lotto numbers on Saturday past were 3,5,9 and 24. There were no jackpot winners but lucky dip winners were Angela O'Kane and Roisin O'Kane. Jackpot currently stands at £3000. Bingo takes place every Sat night at 9pm with the jackpot at £2500 for 42 numbers.

Would you like to do the club lotto every week? Is there ever a week when you forget or are on holiday? How would you feel if that was the week your numbers came up? The jackpot has went twice in the last 4 months with both winners receiving at least £5000!!! Worry not, you can sign up for a standing order which means you don't have to fill out a slip every week but will still be entered and can use your same numbers without fear of ever forgetting them. Call into to club registrar Noel McGrath and he can sign you up in a matter of minutes.

The club shop is open in Mary O'Kane's shop on Main St, Monday to Friday throughout the summer months.
