Glen manager Gary McGill has hailed the dedication of his captain Philip O'Connell.

Last Friday, O'Connell got married in Moville, but before heading on his honeymoon on Tuesday, he lined out with his club Glen in a Division Two clash against Greenlough.

Glen won the game comfortably to keep up their push for promotion back to Division One and McGill told the County Derry Post that O'Connell's decision to play was inspirational.

"We had a big, big ask of Philip O'Connell who was married on Friday and goes on honeymoon on Tuesday," said McGill. "He came from his wedding in Moville to play in this game and that just shows how focussed and single-minded we are here in getting back to Division One." Tweet
