Derry won't travel to Croke Park on Sunday just to make up the numbers against Dublin in the FL Division 1 decider insists Brian McIver.

Dublin's miraculous comeback against Cork in their last four clash has prompted many to predict that the All-Ireland champions can't be touched this year but McIver, speaking to the Irish News, pointed out: "We were 11 points down against Cork but we came back.

"We should have got a penalty which would have given us the lead at a very crucial stage. That game was down in Cork.

"While Dublin's comeback was impressive and they have a tremendous panel of players, we are there on merit."

Dublin and Croke Park doesn't hold any fears for McIver and his Derry players.

"We are really looking forward to it.

"This squad really loves playing in Croke Park. They love the atmosphere of Croke Park.

"They love the way everything is organised. They enjoy the preparation leading up to the games.

"This will be our third time in Croke now in 12 months. We know we are playing the All-Ireland champions in their own back yard but this Derry side is looking forward to that.

"It's going to be a great challenge. We will go out and really enjoy Sunday."
