Derry's Sean Leo McGoldrick will play no part in Sunday's national football league decider.
The brilliant Oak Leaf County wing back will miss the Croke Park clash with holders Dublin due to a knee injury sustained on club duty with Coleraine last Wednesday night.
A scan subsequently revealed that the injury wasn't as serious as first feared, but the Division One final is still going to come too soon for the Ulster star.
"We are going to be without Sean Leo," manager Brian McIver confirms in The Irish News. "Sean Leo is ruled out of the game.
"He got hurt last Wednesday night in a league game against Ballinderry. He shouldn't be out for any more than a week or ten days.
"He just needs rest and, all being well, he will be okay for the 25th of May and the championship. But this game is coming too soon.
"We will obviously miss him but there is nothing we can do about it. We would love to have him but we just have to get on with it."
