FL top scorers: race for the crown could be over

April 07, 2014

There are plenty of flags being raised on the sideline and by umpires in championship 2014
With Tipperary's Conor Sweeney's lead at the top of the Allianz football league scoring chart standing at 15-points, it will take a superhuman effort to see him knocked from the top of the pile.

Sweeney scored five points at the weekend to take his total to 5-41 but with Derry's Mark Lynch rested for his side's game with Mayo, it is hard to see Sweeney being caught at this point.

Lynch leads the way in Division 1, with Down's Donal O'Hare the top scorer in Division 2. Sean McCormack (Longford) heads the Division 3 scoring chart, with Sweeney the top man in Division 4.

In the goal scoring charts Carlow's Seamus Kinsella is joined by Wicklow's Leighton Glynn on six goals. Tipperary's Barry Grogan and Conor Sweeney, together with Kerry's James O'Dononghue all have five goals.

The highest individual score in a game was recorded by Antrim's Brian Nessan (2-8 v Tipperary).
