Senior Camogie: The senior Camogs recently played their first league game of the 2014 season, their opponents being Ballerin with the game at Watty Graham Park. Glen fielded a very young team as a few of the more senior players were unavailable for selection due to other commitments but they still proved to be the stronger team and were four points to the good by half time on a score line of Glen 1-2 Ballerin 0-1. Ballerin staged something of a comeback in the second half and were just a point adrift when they were gifted a goal when play was allowed to continue after a Glen player was clearly fouled and sustained a hand injury. The Glen girls got back into their stride and went on to win by six points, the final score was Glen 2-5 Ballerin 1-2. This was a good start to the season and a confidence boost for the young players. Team Orla McGilligan, Carla Bradley, Ciara Mulholland, Sinead Dillon, Nuala Convery, Danielle McCrystal, Clare McGroggan, Caoimhe Glass, Caoimhe Moran, Hannah Ferguson, Aileen McKenna, Eimear McNicholl, Fiona Glasgow, Laura Coyle & Caoimhe Mulholland, subs used Niamh Gallagher for Laura Coyle, Danielle Kevlahan for Fiona Glasgow, Jill O`Donnell for Caoimhe Mulholland and Catherine McKenna for Eimear McNicholl. The senior Camog's recently received new sponsored jerseys from Kelly's Eurospar Maghera which is very much appreciated.
Coaching Presentation Night. On Friday night in the Glen Centre, Watty Graham's were privileged to host a coach's presentation evening by Dr Mickey Whelan and Professor Niall Moyna from DCU in Dublin. After the insightful presentation all Glen coaches received a sponsored coaching top from Bradley's Centra on the Coleraine Road. A big thanks goes to all involved.
Hogan Cup. Best wishes goes to Ciaran McCloy, Oisin Hegarty, Cathal Mulholland, Conor Glass, Jack Doherty, Paul Gunning, Danny Tallon and Conor Convery who will all play for St Patrick's on Saturday in the Hogan Cup Final in Croke Park.
