Good win last night. Delighted. Not to take away from the victory i though Meath shaded being the better team, but as thy say the best team doesn't always win. We got a lucky goal and that in the end was the difference. When we got direct ball into the forwards they seemed to have the edge on Meaths backs especially in the first half but we stopped kicking it in direct.
Did anyone see what happened for the Red car for Coyne. I saw number 3 attempting to headbutt but after that i didn't see anything.

Great win last night but very dissapointed with prices at the gate last years first round in portloaise was 5euros for an adult and children were free didn't mind paying that but was charger 5 euros for two 15 year old boys who are actually part Of The westmeath development set up it's not an ideal way of promoting football just thought is was bad on behalf of westmeath Co board

Finbar Coyne is going to be a huge huge loss to that team. He is some handfull at this age and his skill level is super. I see by the papaer he is only 18 how the hell was he not on the minor team last year OMG he would destroy lads at minor. Was he away or did he have a falling out or what happened becaue he surely would have been the best minor in the country the size of him.

Sam your right just chatted earlier with one of the minor selectors from last year there and Coyne never played at all last year he had a operation on both his ankles. They didnt have Conor Dillion either for there quarter final last year against Kildare due to injury and he came on the other night for the 21s and was very good. According to the selector if they had them 2 players it would have been a differnt year and maybe they could have won a leinster. Doesnt it prove we are a county that cant afford to miss anyone at any age grade. You cant expect to win anything without a stand out forward. Anyway best of luck to the Under 21s and hopefully they will appeal Coynes sending off becasue we cant afford to loose the likes of him and have another what if. Iarmhi Abu lets chop down the dubs
