Nemo Rangers salvaged something from a disappointing season when they defeated Castlehaven in last night's Cork Division 1 football league (Kelleher Shield) final in Dunmanway.

Luke Connolly scored 0-10 as the Capwell men prevailed on a 0-17 to 1-12 scoreline. The West Cork side held a one-point lead at the interval, but Nemo - who were without Kerry legend Tomas O Se - opened up a 0-16 to 1-7 lead on the restart through scores from Conor O'Donovan, Paul Kerrigan, Connolly and Paddy Gummley.

Castlehaven rallied in the closing stages, but Nemo weren't to be denied as they gained some consolation for their SFC semi-final defeat to Ballincollig at the beginning of October.
